Meet the Team
Richard Bielby
Director/Head of Production
Richard began working in 1993 for what would become Qdos Entertainment assisting in the construction and refurbishment of their stock of sets, as well as touring many various productions and becoming Operations Manager. Richard joined Harrogate Theatre as Production Manager in 2006 and helped set up Harrogate Theatre Scenic Services in 2007 as a commercial venture from the theatre's workshop. In the summer of 2020 Richard took over Harrogate Theatre Scenic Services as a sole venture and established Harrogate Set Production Services.
Darren Hussey
Project Manager
Darren joined Harrogate Theatre in 2004 as Technical Stage Manager and held this role for five years before making the move to Harrogate Theatre Scenic Services. Prior to this he worked at Derby Playhouse for several years where he filled various roles including Assistant Stage Manager, Stage Technician and Deputy Production Manager. Darren works at Harrogate on a semi-permanent basis, assisting with the planning and managing of the various projects we undertake.
Graeme Skingle
Freelance Scenic Artist
Graeme has been our Head of Scenic Art since August 2016. He studied Theatre and Performance Design at the Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts, graduating in 2010. He freelanced as a scenic artist in film, television and theatre, working globally for a range of companies and events, before coming to work full time for Harrogate Set until the summer of 2020 when he returned to freelancing, he now works for Harrogate Set on a semi permanent basis.
